Uni.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Joachim Warschat

Uni.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Joachim Warschat (born in 1949) studied engineering (special field: production engineering) at the University of Stuttgart. In 1980 he was awarded a PhD with the topic "Dynamic optimization of technical and economic systems". Prof. Warschat qualified as a University lecturer with his research on "Planning Methods for just in time production and storage at optimal cost" in 1997. He is Professor at the FernUniversität in Hagen for Technology- and Innovation Managenment.
 
Prof. Warschat is director at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation IAO in Stuttgart and was chair man of the special research project 374 "Development and Testing of innovative products – Rapid Prototyping" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). He is scientific director of the Fraunhofer Academy, scientific advisor of the European Economic Senate, scientific advisor of the “Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI) at the Swiss Fernfachhochschule and visiting professor at the University of Galaţi, Romania. He was and is responsible for a lot of applied research projects in the field of Innovation and Technology Management, IP-Management, Project- and Knowledge Management, Rapid Product Development that were executed together with Aerospatial, BMW, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, FESTO, GEA, Minolta, Robert Bosch, Sanofi, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, Trumpf, Voith, Wittenstein and other companies. Prof. Warschat published more than 250 articles in journals and books in those fields. Awards: Europe INNOVA Award 2008 for an assessment tool developed within the project IMP3rove.
